With a dock full of enthusiastic riders and a flat lake brimming with obstacles, all the ingredients were in place for the 2010 Cable Nationals being held for the first time at Box End Park.
This year the event ran along side the 2nd stop of the UK Pro Wakeboard Tour, adding to what was already set to be a fiercely contested competition.
As the mini boys left the dock the bar was immediately thrust high, with a number of the more experienced riders looking decidedly nervous about having to match the show being put on by the youngsters.
Qualifications quickly ran their course, with riders across the classes delivering 100% to earn the chance of a place in the finals.
Opinion was unanimous around the huge step up in the riding standard, especially amongst the under 16s who were confidently throwing big flat water tricks and going huge off the obstacles.
A thrilling last chance qualification paved the way for the eagerly awaited finals, with all the riders making the most of their runs to impress the judging panel.
To pick out single riders performances in the final would serve as an injustice to the riding display put on by all, needless to say across the board it was a fantastic display of riding talent.
